1. Who we are
Cora Rider is the delivery app for riders of stores that run on Cora Retail ERP. It is published on Google Play as “Cora Rider - Delivery Partner” and operated by Techcora Corporation Private Limited (“Techcora”, “we”), 12/180, Makkamoola, Gudalur, The Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu 643212, India. Contact: info@techcoracorp.com.
The store you deliver for (“your store”) creates your rider account and decides which orders you carry. Techcora runs the software for your store. This policy covers the Cora Rider app; our general policy at techcoracorp.com/privacy covers everything else we do.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your name, phone number, email address, rider ID and the store you belong to. Your store enters these when it adds you. Your password is checked by our sign-in service and is never stored in readable form.
- Precise location, only while you carry a delivery: sharing starts when you tap to pick up an order and stops when that order is delivered or cancelled. While it runs, Android shows a notification saying your location is being shared. The app does not track you just because you are signed in or online, and it does not ask for the “allow all the time” background location permission.
- Photos: the proof-of-delivery photo you take at the customer's door, and a profile photo if your store requires one. The app uses the camera only when you tap to take one of these photos.
- Delivery activity: when you pick up, arrive and deliver; the delivery code the customer gives you; and how much you collected, in cash or by UPI.
- Device notification token: an identifier Google issues so we can notify you of new orders. It is removed when you sign out.
We do not collect your contacts, call logs, SMS, other apps' data or browsing history. The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
3. Permissions the app asks for
- Location (while using the app): to share your position during a delivery.
- Camera: for proof-of-delivery and profile photos.
- Notifications: to tell you about new orders and show location sharing.
- Display over other apps (optional): a small bubble over Google Maps during a delivery. You can decline it; everything else still works.
Tapping “call” or “directions” opens your phone's dialer or Google Maps; we do not see those calls or your Maps history.
4. How we use it
- To sign you in and show you the orders your store assigns to you.
- To show your store where its deliveries are, and to detect when you reach the customer.
- To record that an order was handed over, with proof, and the payment you collected.
- To show your delivery history and earnings.
- To keep the service secure and to investigate disputes, fraud or misuse.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
5. Who sees it
- Your store sees your account details, your live location during deliveries, your route, proof photos, delivery activity and the payments you collected.
- The customer of an order you are carrying may see your name and your position on a map until it is delivered, where the store offers live tracking.
- Service providers who host and run the service for us, such as Google Cloud and Firebase for sign-in, file storage and notifications, bound by contract to use the data only for this purpose.
- Authorities where Indian law requires it.
6. Security
All data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to a store's data is limited to that store and to Techcora staff who need it to run and support the service.
7. How long we keep it
- Delivery records, including route points, proof photos and payments collected, are part of your store's business records. They are kept for as long as the store uses Cora Retail ERP, and longer where tax or other law requires it.
- Your account details are kept while you are a rider for the store.
- Your notification token is deleted when you sign out.
8. Deleting your data
You can ask for your data to be deleted in either of these ways:
- Ask your store to remove you as a rider, or
- Email info@techcoracorp.com with the subject “Cora Rider data deletion”, from the email address on your rider account, and tell us which store you deliver for.
Within 30 days we delete your sign-in account, contact details, profile photo and notification tokens. Delivery records that your store must keep by law, such as which orders were delivered, proof photos and payments collected, stay with the store's records for the period the law requires, and are then deleted.
9. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask to see, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, and nominate someone to act for you. Write to info@techcoracorp.com. You must be 18 or older to use Cora Rider.
10. Grievance officer
Grievance Officer, Techcora Corporation Private Limited — info@techcoracorp.com. We acknowledge grievances within 7 days and aim to resolve them within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
11. Changes
If we change what the app collects, we will update this page and its effective date before the change reaches the app.
